Dr. Kushner: available now by telehealth from Maui
Dr. Rachel Kushner is a licensed Naturopathic Physician and a member of the Hawaii Association of Naturopathic Physicians. Trained as a family medicine doctor with expertise in natural therapeutics, she sees patients of all ages for a variety of health concerns. Dr. Kushner earned her naturopathic medical degree from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Arizona and received her undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park. Prior to relocating to Hawaii in 2016, Dr. Kushner practiced in North Carolina, and continues to provide care for her North Carolina patients through telemedicine.
Dr. Kushner’s areas of specialization include women’s health, pediatric health including developmental disorders, mental health, autoimmune conditions, gastro-intestinal conditions, and chronic fatigue. Especially skilled at treating “challenging” cases, Dr. Kushner has successfully treated many individuals who haven’t gotten results elsewhere. She recently trained with Integrative Medicine for Mental Health to offer the most innovative, holistic, and science-based treatments for mental health and childhood developmental disorders to her patients. She is currently the only IMMH trained physician in the state of Hawaii.
Dr. Kushner’s focus is on treating underlying causes of disease and not just treating symptoms. She identifies underlying causes that are often overlooked through a very detailed naturopathic intake, physical exam, conventional lab testing, and cutting-edge specialty testing. Once underlying causes are identified, treatment is individualized and addresses the whole person- body, mind, and spirit. Nutrition, lifestyle changes, supplements, botanical medicine, homeopathy, and counseling/stress management are utilized to bring patients back to health.
Dr. Kushner’s objective is to compassionately guide her patients on their path to health so they are able to live life to the fullest. She provides a nurturing, comfortable space where she empowers her patients with the tools necessary for healing body, mind, and spirit.
